{lunta maassa ja ikkunoissa}

 ette voi uskoa miten paljon iloa nämä paperilumihiutaleet tuo mulle. hymyilyttää joka kerta kun näen ne.

 meillä ei ole kauniita verhoja olkkarissa vaan simppelit puiset kaihtimet. syy? kissankarvat. alakerran tv huoneessa on verhot ja ne on ihan kamalat. mustaa kissankarvaa ja ne ei lähde muuten kuin pesemällä verhot. se on iso homma kun pitää sitten ne silittääkin. joku päivä vielä meilläkin on kauniit verhot. mutta sitten ikävöidään kissoja. meille ei sitten tule enää lemmikkejä. allergia syistä ja muutenkin.  

 sitten! arvatkaapa kuka leikkasi nämä lumihiutaleet. sienna! origami paperista kun se on ohuempaa ja helpompi leikata. minä piirsin taitetulle paprulle miten leikataan. ihmettelen kyllä että viisi vuotias osaa jo näin hyvin leikellä. näppärät sormet meidän pikkusella.

nämä laitettiin tv huoneen oveen. ihana katsella niitä tv:tä töllöttäessä.

paper snowflakes bring so much joy to me. i can't help but smile every time i see them. sienna made the colorful ones! i can't believe she can cut this well. i drew the lines where to cut and way she went. she just kept wanting to make more and more. something to do while being sick at home. no fun seeing your little ones sick, eh? i'm off to cuddle with her now.

ps. her favorite tv show right now is zoboomafoo (on PBS channel). we have watched the shows i've PVRed over and over again. the funnest show ever. you learn about animals and the two brothers who do the show are hilarious. zoboo the leaping lemur is so cute! we highly recommend this show to everyone. :)

tänään olen kiitollinen tästä blogin tilastosta. viime aikoina olen taas miettinyt että pitäisi lopettaa tämä blogi kun tuntuu ettei täällä ketään käy. tämän tilaston nähtyäni jaksan taas jatkaa blogia. itsekin olen nykyään melko laiska kommentoija joten pitää ymmärtää jos kommentteja ei tule ja muistaa että kyllä täällä joku käy.

näyttää siltä että suurin osa kävijöistä on suomesta. monesti mietin että pitäisikö tehdä ihan suomen kielinen blogi vaan mutta sitten tajuan että joitakin asioita on tosi vaikea nykyään selittää suomeksi. aivot käy nykyään englannin kielellä koko ajan. suomen kielen sanastoni ei ole paljon kasvanut yli 20 vuoteen. monesti tuntuu että kirjoitan hoonoo soomee. kuten tämä postaus. koittakaa kestää. :)

suurkiitos teille kaikille jotka täällä käyvät. nyt yritän muistaa että kun tulee blogimasennus niin pitää vaan käydä tsekkaamassa tilastot. :)

i just have to share this story president monson shared at our church's women's conference:

A young couple, Lisa and John, moved into a new neighborhood. One morning while they were eating breakfast, Lisa looked out the window and watched her next-door neighbor hanging out her wash.

“That laundry’s not clean!” Lisa exclaimed. “Our neighbor doesn’t know how to get clothes clean!”

John looked on but remained silent.

Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, Lisa would make the same comments.

A few weeks later Lisa was surprised to glance out her window and see a nice, clean wash hanging in her neighbor’s yard. She said to her husband, “Look, John—she’s finally learned how to wash correctly! I wonder how she did it.”

John replied, “Well, dear, I have the answer for you. You’ll be interested to know that I got up early this morning and washed our windows!”
