tanaan

***
Tanaan:
*Sain valmiiksi taman numero kolmosen kun Sienna oli paivaunilla.
(klikkaa kuvaa jos haluat nahda taas taman kunnolla, sitten voit ihailla yksityiskohtaisesti... :-D )
*Sienna leikki kauan aikaa kylpyammeessa. Ruiskuteltiin kalalla.
*Haettu Robin toista ja meidan molempien piti kayda verikokeissa.
*Imuroin alakerran ja Jay onneksi imuroi loput kun meinasin lakahtya kuumuudesta.
*Pesin lattian. Lakahdyin kuumuudesta.
*Ihailtu Siennan kanssa krokuksen alkuja etupihan kukkapenkissa.
*Robin lahti juuri leffaan kamujensa kanssa.
*Odotellaan Jayta kotiin ja sitten syodaan nachoja.
***
Today:
*Finished scrapbook page #3. Love it!
*Sienna played in the bathtub a long time. I helped her squirt the fishy.
*Picked up Robin from work and then we both had bloodtests done.
*Vacuumed downstairs and thank goodness Jay vacuumed the rest as I was dying from sweating.
*Washed the floor. Just about died from sweating as nobody took over.
*Admired flowers that are starting to pop up in the front flowerbed.
*Robin just left to a movie with his friends.
*We are waiting for Jay so that we can eat nachos for supper & relax.

second page

***
It's finished. My second page. Jay gave me my first honest criticism. He said I should have used a plain color for the background. He thinks it's too busy looking. I admit that it's a bit busy looking but I still love it. Somehow I really like it that all the papers I used are patterned ones. I think it works in some weird way. But I decided to make a plainer one as well since I have one more of these pictures left. So stay tuned to see the plain one in the near future. :)
I wish the bottom saying would be a bit more to the right but it was so hard to estimate how long the saying would be. I didn't have the patience to test it first. Oh well, the plain one will have it in the right place. :)

***
This is why I had time to do my scrapbook page yesterday. Sienna and Robin were playing really nice together. Here Robin is cutting Sienna's hair. :) Sienna sees me cutting Jay's hair and wanted her hair cut.
***
***
Pretty creative scissors, don't you think? :)

Taaraaraabumdiei!
(I don't have a clue how to spell that song's title so I spelled it the way you'd write it in Finnish)
***
I can't wait to go and buy some more scrapbooking paper. I have so many ideas and I'm dying to see them materialized.

i'm brilliant!!! :)

***
This is what I did today. I am so hooked on scrapbooking now. This is my favorite scrapbooking page ever!
I LOOOOOOVE it!! :-D
How did I get the idea for this? I'll give you a hint: ecojot.
***
I'm brilliant!!!!!
***
Did I mention I'm brilliant? :-D
***
Now is your turn to tell me I'm brilliant. :-D
***
ps. Last night I kept asking Jay if he wanted to stare at my first page for a few minutes. I sure did! Jay pretty much had to as well. :-D
Oh the poor guy today - he'll have to stare at this one for hours. :-D
I'm supposed to go and vacuum but how on earth am I going to get my eyes off of this one? What a dilemma. :-D
***
ps. I just realized this page is not 100% done.
Come back tomorrow to see what I'm adding to it. :-D

spread the love

***
I got one of these from Marita who is a Finnish muslim mommy living in Tunisia. Thanks Marita! I'm honored.
Now I need to assign this award for 5 more blogs. It's always so hard to do this (that's why I normally don't do these award thingies) because you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by excluding them from your list. It's also hard to choose from the many wonderful blogs there are. So I had to think of a way to narrow down my choices. I thought that if I do "non Finnish" blogs then I'm least likely to offend anyone. So here are 5 "non Finnish" blogs I enjoy visiting:
*talia - Talia is a very talented scrapbooker who shares her ideas and talents on her blog. She also started "The Goodie Box" with her friend Kim. Because of Talia & Kim I actually made my very first official scrapbooking page. I like the challenges they give to their readers every month. It gets your imagination going as you try to come up with a layout that matches the challenge. And Talia is super special of course because she teaches Sienna in nursery. :)
*claudine hellmuth - Claudine Hellmuth is a collage artist whom I love for the simple fact that she has authored books in which she shows art techniques. I have two of her books and one of these days I will find enough courage to try my hand in art. For someone like me (an artist wannabe who never had a chance to study art) it has meant a lot to me that she is willing to share her techniques. Thanks Claudine!
*the pioneer woman - One of my new blog finds. I haven't had a chance to dive deep into her blog yet but what I have seen so far, I have loved. She has a great sense of humor and once again - she shares techniques and inspires me with her photos. Some people just like to show their art/crafts without sharing how they do what they do. It's great when some people are willing to share the techniques so that the rest of us can learn from them.
*orange you lucky! - Helen Dardik is an illustrator who's work is inspiring and makes me feel happy. Helen also likes to share "fun, fresh and beautiful things". Cute stuff! Feel good kind of a blog. Just the way I like it. :) I'm lucky that I found her blog. Now you can be too. :)
*minor details - I like this blog for two simple reasons: babies/kids & modern design. There is such a lack of modern baby/kids stuff where I live so sites like these show me the things I crave. Great place to find cool stuff for your little ones.
***
There you have it. I feel that all of these blogs qualify for the "blogging with purpose" criteria. Fun stuff!
***
ps. Who did everyone like in yesterday's American Idol? I liked Brooke, David A. and Kristy Lee. I was like "darn" when David Cook's song wasn't that great this time.
***
ps. I have like "million" scrapbook page ideas now. I'm going nuts because I don't have million hours to make them all. Good nuts though. :) Creative juices are flowing. Gotta love it. I can tell that this scrapbooking thing is going to stick with me now. By the way, you don't need to scrapbook all your pictures. That used to intimidate me too. Then I realized that you can just scrapbook special pages or projects here and there. Just for fun.
***
ps. Ok, what's with the "like"?!!! How did that get in this posting twice? (*roll eyes*)Like, I never like say it! (I really don't) (honestly!)
***
ps. It's up to the awarded person if they want to keep this award going. I know it takes time to do these. I don't even always keep them going. If anyone else wants to give this award in their blog, please feel free to do so. It's fun to see who people recommend.

need to clarify

***
I'm sure you all have noticed that I can't do a blog entry without a picture. You gotta have pictures man! :)
***
I really like Ecojot stationary that has been featured in many blogs lately. Cute stuff!
***
Ok, I have had a guilty conscience since yesterday's blog entry. I really think the Survivor thing is very funny and I did mention that I think men work hard too. I just want to totally clarify something so that no one misunderstands me. I have never liked "menbashing". Lot of women seem to do it nowadays. They complain how men don't do this, or men don't understand that, or men don't... You get the picture. When I posted that funny thing yesterday I didn't do it to say that men couldn't handle being women. Simply it was just funny if you don't take it seriously. Men and women are different of course but I think that is so needed to keep a balance in the world. Some things women seem to do better and some things men do better. Big deal. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. It doesn't mean that someone is better than someone else. I really believe that God for example values men and women TOTALLY EQUALLY. We have different roles in life and that's ok. We don't need to be the same to be equal. I think that's a point feminists have sadly missed. We should respect everyone's role in this world and not put anyone down because they are different from us. I think men are great. They are straight forward, can keep a cool head and not freak out emotionally when women tend to, etc. Not to say that some women don't have these qualities. You all know I'm not speaking in generalities here, I hope. All I'm trying to say that I think men are great and I don't want to ever come across as saying they are less than women somehow. When it comes to our family, Jay is the one who pays the bills, does taxes and does many of the mundane tasks that I should be helping with but can't get myself to do it. He's an awesome father and does a lot for our family. I totally get inspired by him when I notice how genuinely he is working towards making Sienna and me happy. So without going on and on about this... Just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that I don't condone menbashing in any way. It's a terrible thing that many women seem to do nowadays. What good will it ever accomplish? Would women like to be talked about like that? Let's treat each other with respect and let's keep our influence positive and not negative. There, I got it off my chest now. :) And that being said, wasn't the Survivor thingy I posted yesterday really funny? :)

This is it for now. More to come today. :)

ta-daa!

***
Ta-daa! My VERY FIRST actual scrapbooking page. I had so much fun making it! I saw the latest challenge at Talia & Kim's GoodieBox website (link can be found in Talia's blog, link to that blog is in my blog list on the right) and decided to give it a try. You HAVE TO click on the image to see it better. Do it for me baby! :-D And then leave a comment and tell me how totally awesome this page is. :-D
***

THE NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES

Six married men will be dropped on an island.

Each will have one car and 3 kids for six weeks.

Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes.

There is no fast food.

Each man must take care of his 3 kids; keep his assigned house clean, correct all homework, and complete science projects, cook, do laundry, and pay a list of pretend bills.

In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week.

Each man must remember the birthdays of all the family's friends and relatives, and send cards & presents out on time.

Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment, a dentist appointment and a haircut appointment.

He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to busy pediatrician's office.

He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a school function.

Each man will be responsible for decorating his house, planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times.

The men will have access to television when ONLY the kids are asleep and all chores are done.

The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, adorn themselves with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails polished and eyebrows groomed.

The men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other duties.

They must attend weekly school meetings, church, and find time at least once to spend the afternoon at the park or a similar setting.

They will need to read a book and then pray with the children each night and in the morning, feed them, dress them, brush their teeth and comb their hair by 7:00 am...and make a healthy lunch to take for the days when the child isn't in the mood for the lunchroom's food.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information: each child's birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name;also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor, each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they want to be when they grow up.

The kids vote them off the island based on performance.

The last man wins only if...he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moment's notice.

If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again for the next 18-25 years -- eventually earning the right to be called Mother!

Just so that everyone knows... I think that men work very hard as well! I just thought this was pretty funny.
***
ps. Don't forget to leave that admiring comment! :-D
