{summer vacation, part XII + kuulumisia}

On Day 6 we drove to Crescent City, California. Soaring golden eagels, more amazing beaches and scenaries, golden raspberries... Crescent City wasn't anything special but we stayed there because of the next stop on our vacation. Can you guess what it was? :) Lots of pictures to come of that place. It was amazing!

Sitten... Taisin kertoa jokin aika sitten etta loysin uuden laakarin joka on tosi hyva. Valitin etta vaikken ole muuttanut syontitapoja niin paino vaan lisaantyy. Olin oikeastaan syonyt vahemman kuin yleensa silla koko ajan oli sellainen ahky olo, soin tai en. Hiuksia lahti paasta paljon. Hiukset oli huomattavasti ohuemmat.

Eli arvaatte varmaan mika mulla oli vialla. Kapyrauhanen oli laiskistunut. Muut laakarit olisivat varmaan sanoneet mulle etta mun kapyrauhas verikoe oli ihan normaali (oli alhainen "normaali") mutta tama laakari mun oireiden takia laittoi mut kapyrauhaslaakitykselle (sellaiselle bio identical eli samanlaiselle mita keho itse tuottaa). Olen nyt popsinut niita jonkin aikaa ja olen laihtunut 9 kiloa jo vaikka olen syonyt ihan normaalisti taas (en ole yrittanyt mitenkaan laihdutella). Hiuksia ei lahde enaa tukkukaupalla. Olo normaali (ei ahky). Ah! Viela kun loputkin extrakilot lahtee niin onpa kiva.

Sitten mun adrenaali rauhaset (adrenal glands) on ihan boinks. Laakari sanoi ettei ihme etta olen ihan vasy koko ajan. Antoi siihenkin nyt kahdet eri pillerit ja tuskin jaksan odottaa etta nekin alkavat auttamaan. Sitten kun viela saan mun fibromyalgian kuntoon niin ehka sanskusta tulee vihdoinkin kunnon energia pakkaus. :)

Olen oppinut etta pitaa etsia laakareita jotka tietavat siita vaivasta mika sulla on. Ei pida antaa periksi. Jos "tietaa sisimmassaan" etta joku on vialla niin ei saa antaa periksi. Kun jaksaa etsia niin apua kylla loytyy. Mulla on sellainen tunne etta vihdoinkin mun terveysongelmiin alkaa loytya apua. Vuosikausia olen karsinyt kaikenmaailman jutuista. Ihana olo kun tuntuu etta apua vihdoinkin loytyy.

Sama juttu oli mun vatsaongelmien kanssa. Vuosikausia valittelin laakareille etta mun vatsa oli aina turvonnut ja mulla oli koko ajan paha olo. Valilla tuntui etten voinut syoda mitaan. Vihdoinkin kun olin toissa eraan kiropraktikon vastaanotolla han sanoi mulle etta mun vatsa ei tuota tarpeeksi enzyymeja ruuan sulatukseen. Antoi mulle entsyymeja joita nyt napsin joka kerta kun syon. Ei turvotusta. Ei pahaa oloa. Vuosi kausia olin karsinyt. Eli kantsi jatkaa avun kysymista kunnes apu loytyi. Mulla on paljon vastaavia kokemuksia. Ei joka laakari tieda kaikkea. Kantsii jatkaa avun etsintaa. Ihana olo kun loytaa sen oikean laakarin mika mihinkin vaivaan.

{summer vacation, part XI, sea lion cave, heceta head lighthouse}

Day 6 and still in Oregon Y. Just north of Florence is this world's largest sea lion cave. You decend 60m (200') in an elevator to view this huge cave full of sea lions (appr. 160-200 of them). You weren't allowed to use a flash so this is the best picture I could get. It was weird to be able to see them so close up. The smell was "lovely". :) There used to be stairs where this second picture was taken. I'm glad I got to take an elevator instead.

Our next stop was to the Heceta Head Lighthouse which can be seen on the background in this second photo as well. The walk up the hill was gorgeous. Amazing scenary once again. More birdies pooping on pretty rocks. :) We had a really nice retired man tell us about the history of the lighthouse and to show us around. It was actually quite interesting to hear about it all. You could tell that our tour guide was "so into it". Fun experience.

Stinking telemarketers who call million times (ok, maybe 10-15 is more truthful but still) even when you have asked them many times before not to call you. Today this same company (that keeps on calling and calling and calling, they must run on Duracel batteries) called us this morning (I was not very nice to them this time, I've had it!) and AGAIN TONIGHT!!! What does it take?! I've told them we're on the DO NOT CALL LIST, I've told them politely not to call, I've told them not very politely not to call. I finally got their phone number and made a complaint to the do not call list. I should have done that long time ago. Hope this works. Wish you could send a stink bomb through phone lines. I can handle when they call once but come on - repeatedly. So ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrh! :(

I'd do the "Andy Rooney" but these guys just hang up. Andy Rooney from the tv show 60 minutes shared some good tips how to get rid of telemarketers etc. He said to say to the telemarketer "Sure, I'll talk to you. Hold on just one second..." Then you put the phone down and wait for them to realize you're not going to talk to them (beep) and hang up. I've done it quite many times and I love it. :) He also shared a tip about all the unwanted mail you get. If you get something with a return envelope (postage paid) you just fill it up with all the unwanted mail you get and send it back. I've never done that as mail doesn't bother me like telemarketers do.

We've always kept our phone simple but maybe it's finally time for that call display option. It'll still be annoying though. Maybe I just have to get in the habit of not answering the phone and tell those close to me to leave a message and I'll call them back. We'll see if this complaint thing works. If they dare to call again... :(

{summer vacation, part X, highway 101, yaquina lighthouse}

Day 5 still. Some views from Highway 101. What a gorgeous drive. Beach after beach after beach. Amazing views. Definately worth all the driving we did to see the beauty of the west coast. We totally enjoyed the long drives.

Stopped at the Yaquina Lighthouse near Newport. There was a lovely black stone beach (such smooth stones!) and sea lions & million birds on big rocks.
What's up with all the crooked pictures? Should we rename the lighthouse Pisa? :)

The second lighthouse is Heceta Head Lighthouse. More about that in another posting.

The sunset picture is from Florence, Oregon, where our next hotel was. Not an exciting town to stay in at all. They do have amazing sand dunes though and you can do all sorts of fun sand sports there.

Taking a break from the summer vacation report to talk about something really important - Canada's Next Top Model tv show. :) Yes, I watch this show. So sue me. :)

I can't believe they chose Meaghan to be the winner. Linsay (above) totally kicked her butt.

Who loves Jay Manuel and his perfect look? I do. :) I could never ever for example date a guy that looked like this but I can appreciate his efforts in looking "perfect". I'd hate to be in the fashion industry myself. The pressure to always look perfect and to be fashionable. I'd go nuts. To me it seems like such a shallow world too. Me, me, me. Look at me. Yet I still enjoy watching Top Model at times. Go figure it out. :) I do have to record the show so I can skip the drama between the girls. I only like the creative part of the show. It has always interested me how people can look so different when their hair & makeup is done.
I don't know if Jay wrote those notes to the girls himself but I loved the font/handwriting in the notes. I have got to find a computer font like that!
I'm having a hard time finding any motivation to clean the house. It's +28C and it's supposed to be atleast that warm for a while now. Who wants to clean when it's that hot? Not me. I do find other excuses all the time too. Sad to admit. :)
Sitten voisin valittaa eraasta aiheesta. Nimittain omasta naamalarvista. :) Tiedan etta olen usein tosi vasyn nakoinen. Mun energia ei ole sama kuin muiden. Mutta kun katsoin kesaloma kuvia itsestani niin voi jarkytyksen jarkytys! En muka ole niin karseen nakoinen "luonnossa". Johtuneeko valosta vai mista mutta kuvat jarkytti. Yoks ja plaah. Hyva etta olen 99% ajasta kameran takana, ei sen edessa. Vaikea laittaa mitaan kuvia blogiin esim mutta yritan olla olematta turhamainen ja hampaita kiristellen yritan kestaa kuvia. Mutta janna juttu etta kun katson peiliin niin en muka ole ihan niin karsee sentaan. Hoh.

{summer vacation, part IX, cannon beach, oregon}

Day 5 still. Shopping in the idyllic Cannon Beach. What a cute place!! This little seaside town seemed almost perfect in it's cuteness. Even the birds live in idyllic birdhouses. :) Sorry about the million flower pictures but I couldn't help myself. Love the gray weathered wood in buildings. A must have for a beach town.

Once again - Cannon Beach, Oregon, stole my heart. Y
