[victoria vacation, day 11]

Day 11

+31C and sunny. We didn’t have any bad weather during our vacation.

Late lunch in Jasper. Visited an art gallery that was showcasing local art. Ended up buying an art print (not the deer one).

It’s official: I cannot drive through the mountains without taking million pictures.

There you have it. Hope some of you enjoyed seeing snippets of our vacation.

Day 10

All good things come to an end. Time to head back home.

Supper at Kamloops. +34C. It’s always hot in Kamloops, it seems. Hence the more desert kind of pictures.

Spent the night at a hotel in Blue River.

^ Trees burned down by a forest fire.

Day 7

Downtown Victoria: Blueberries from the market, browsed the shops, had lunch and saw Canadian and Australian aboriginal art at an art gallery.

Spent the rest of the day at Thetis Lake. Cute little lake with a sandy beach. NO BUGS!!! No need for yucky mosquito spray when you’re near the ocean.

Day 8

Another +30C day. Drove to Nanaimo and took a ferry to West Vancouver. Staying with some special people in North Vancouver.

Day 9

Swimming and relaxing at Browning Lake in Squamish (with the special people mentioned).

Day 6

Another gorgeous day. We rented bikes and went sightseeing. Checked out Beacon Hill Park (petting zoo for kids) and even biked uphill so that we could visit the Craigdarroch Castle.
If you ever go to Victoria, make sure you eat at Big Wheel Burger on Cook Street. According to my husband, their burgers and milkshakes are even better than at Peter’s in Calgary.
We ended our day with a fish and chips supper at the wharf.
