i kept decorations really simple this year. made this quick garland from scrap paper circles.



bought lots of these from a dollar store.

as you can see, i'm starting to keep my motto "simplify".

the kids enjoyed a game we played:
everyone sits on the floor in a big circle. one person is blindfolded. everyone else claps hands to make some noise while i place a big pot on the floor with a toy underneath. the blindfolded person then whacks the floor with a wooden spoon until she finds the pot. she gets the toy. the kids in the circle had to scream "eek!" if the person in the middle comes too close to them. 



blank journal pages are boring. i've always wanted to have pictures in my journals too. i think they tell as much about me as the actual journaling does.

lately i've been gluing my pinterest finds on the pages.

then i thought i'd share one of my quirks. when i eat m&m's, i grab a handful of them, lay them on the table in color groups from most to least, then i eat them so that eventually i have an equal amount of each color. for example in this instance i would eat: 1 orange, 1 green, 1 yellow, then 1 orange, 1 green, 1 yellow, 1 blue, then 1 orange, 1 green, 1 yellow, 1 blue, 1 red.

silly, i know.

not a single bad thing to say about the movie. it's one of those perfect ones. so i'm giving it five out of five stars.

this book was very enjoyable. it gives you a glimpse of a life of a Japanese wife in America after the World War II.

the only criticism i'm giving this book is that it gives false information about the church i belong to. it drives me nuts when i read/see/hear something about my church that is not true.

one thing the author says in the book is that we believe that physical intimacy should only happen when you want to have babies. what a load of baloney! trust me on this one. ;)

then it talks about how secretive our church is. hello? how can someone say that when all of our beliefs are on the church website and at the moment, more than 52,000 lds missionaries are out there in the world ready to teach anyone about our church who is willing to listen. hmm, secretive? i don't think so. 

you just can't believe all you hear/read/see on tv.

i actually got a good laugh from those parts of the book. sometimes it's very interesting what people think about our church. the "best" one i've ever heard is that the lds church has built a tunnel under the Atlantic Ocean from Ireland to the United States so that they can smuggle women to be their wives. that is the most ludicrous thing i've ever heard. :D i can't believe that someone honestly believes that but the person who said that was serious. you just gotta shake your head sometimes of some people's ignorance.

anyways, i'm giving this book three out of five stars because it was a good book but not great. an enjoyable read.
