[Gotta love Kid Snippets!]

I can't believe it's back to school time already. Summer went way too fast! Noticing some yellow in the trees and mornings are quite nippy. I do love fall though, my favorite season. But like summer - it just doesn't last long enough. Winter is a real time hog where we live.

Have you seen these school related Kid Snippets videos yet? These guys are the best!

[this & that]

Lily of the valley flowers from our backyard. So fragrant!

Too bad he wasn't hungrier and wouldn't stay longer - he'd make a great lawn mower.

The new Target Canada stores need more work to catch up to US equivalents but at least the advertising is super cute.

You can see glimpses of our wonderful country in this commercial:

[need a new exercise routine?]

This video shows Oona Kivelä, who has won The World Pole Dancing Championship twice, doing her exercises.

I only do this routine on the second Tuesday of every month as it's not that challenging anymore. Hahaa! J

[last day of school and then SPRING break!!]

How can such a small flower (hyacinth) give out so much scent?

Cute lion paper craft idea for kids.

About 20cm last week.

...and today’s weather forecast promises 10 more centimeters but I have a feeling it’ll be more than that.
Tomorrow: SPRING break!! J
As we were stuck in this morning’s traffic (due to snow, some people think that you can’t drive the speed limit when it snows), Sienna and I were laughing so hard about it being SPRING break.
“Let’s go pick some spring flowers during the break.”
“Look at the beautiful, green spring trees!”
“Let’s go for a spring picnic at the park tomorrow.” J

Happy Spring Break tomorrow! Maybe some of you can actually enjoy spring. We tough Canadians can wait. J

ps. This is so cool!

[green March 2013 printables and some drumming]

Of course I had to add green March 2013 printables as well.
To use my printables, just right click on the printable you want, save the photo as a JPG file to your computer. Then you can import them to a Microsoft Word document and print them. Easy!
I should probably learn how to use a downloading service. I don’t have much patience to learn technical stuff. Something I need to work on.

And here’s an amazing video of The Top Secret Drums Corps from Switzerland. All I can say is “W.O.W.”!!

[a.w.e.s.o.m.e.]

This guy is amazing! You gotta watch him!

Sorry that I don’t have any renovation/new home pictures yet. Life is super busy right now trying to get organized.
I can’t believe how much I already love our new home. Even though couple of walls still need to be built. Even though the front entrance is missing the tiles. Even though the railing and the front door are still yucky. Even though the light fixtures haven’t been changed yet. Even though the fire place needs a makeover still. Even though the basement is full of stuff to be unpacked and put away.  Even though the new windows still need to be put in. Etc.

I don’t know what’s up but I’m in love with this house. I feel like smiling all the time when I’m here. I love the paint colors I chose. I love the openness (we took down some walls). I love that there is no yucky wall-to-wall carpet anymore. I love my built-in-vacuum. I love. I love. I love.

Even the smelly washer or leaking dishwasher hasn’t dampened my spirits.

I’m just in awe that a home made in my style can make me so happy. I feel like smiling all the time.

Happy sigh.

What’s making you happy right now?

[you have to watch this!]

I only do stuff like this on the first and third Tuesday of the month.

I give this book «««½ out of five stars.
A futuristic twist on a classic fairy-tale. Enjoyed it.

[wow!]

Wow is all I can say about this day.

I’ve been in Canada for over 21 years now. My mom finally got a computer and this morning we spoke face-to-face on Skype. What a blessing technology is to someone who lives far away from loved ones!

Then we got news that my husband passed his Denturist exam after taking it for the second time. He should have passed it the first time he took it (a long story) and it’s been frustrating for him to feel that he wasn’t fully done with school.
Now he can add DD to his name and I’m seriously thinking of calling him my Diddy. J

We have also been struggling to find a new home. My heart was set on two things: I wanted a brand new home with all the finishes I wanted to select. We also wanted a great view. I also didn't want to have to do any renovating.

At one point I was going to forget about the new thing as an old house was on sale with an amazing view of a beautiful lake. Turns out we didn’t get that house (they accepted the first offer they got) and my heart was a bit broken.

Anyways, we’ve been checking out so many houses, new and old, for months now. It has been so frustrating because nothing was working. We never felt good about any of the houses even though especially the brand new option was exactly what I wanted.

I honestly believe that some things in life are just meant to be. So it is with the house we bought today. It was built in 1978 (a brand new house indeed!) and needs renovating big time to make it “ours”. But something kept telling us in our hearts that this was to be our home and so it is. I feel total peace about it. Like I said, some things in life are just meant to be.

What a day!

ps. The video has nothing to do with any of this. It's just plain old hilarious! The part "I don't know who's taking care of them. Are they ok?" is still cracking me up! J

{this week}

life is busy at the moment. tons of cleaning to do after neglecting it for couple of weeks due to illness.

that’s my excuse anyways and i’m sticking to it. where is the cleaning fairy when you need her?

i’m looking forward to a babyshower later this week. such a good excuse to go and peruse all the new baby stuff. J

a friend of mine is also doing a my favorite things party. ten of us will bring 10 favorite things and everyone gets each other’s favorites. i’m curious to see what everyone will bring.

i’m also working on my very first guest blog post. pretty exciting, or what? J

oh and did i mention how wonderful it is that we’ve had the longest, snowiest, coldest winter ever. we get teased with mild temperatures only to find ourselves in the middle of another cold front. it was minus 38C this morning and over minus 20C as we speak. not impressed to say the least. it’s march for goodness sake. where, oh where, art thou spring?
at least it’s sunny and there are no mosquitos. how’s that for being optimistic? J
