Here are the last Edmonton pictures I found on the internet. These first ones are from Whyte Avenue. Older buildings, cute little shops, "interesting" shops, restaurants, artsy fartsy stores, Farmers' Market... It's close to the University and there are night clubs nearby as well. Popular hang out place for young people. You gotta go through the Whyte Ave shops at least once every summer.

Some of the buildings burned down and they had to build some new ones to replace them. They tried to keep the Whyte Ave feel even though the buildings are new.

I've never been to the Strathcona Hotel. It's a really old building and I keep thinking a flea would jump on me if I went inside. Maybe I'll find the courage to check it out this summer. Just to take some pictures for ya. We'll see... :)

There are other festivals here too. This one is The Edmonton Folk Festival. It's supposed to be great. I've never been. I guess I'm not that into folk music. But who knows, I might be positively surprised if I went.

Mun pitaa myontaa etta vaikka Edmontonissa kylla loytyy kaikkea kivaa niin noin yleisesti tama ei kylla mun mielesta ole mikaan kaunis kaupunki. Kauneutta kylla loytyy mutta silti monesti totean etta taalla pitaisi enemman panostaa katujen kauneuteen jne. Ei vaan keskustassa mutta ympari kaupunkia. Paljon teollisuutta taalla ja se aina nakyy ajaessa. Albertassa on paljon oljy bisnesta. Esim pohjois Albertassa tuotetaan oljya erottamalla se hiekka alueista. Tuo paljon rahaa Albertaan mutta samalla myos nakyy sellainen tyolaiskaupunki fiilis usein. Itse mainostaisin enemman Vancouveria tai Montreal/Ottawaa jos joku kysyisi missa pitaisi kayda Kanadassa. Kalliovuoret on Albertan paras osa (Jasper alue varsinkin!). Upeaa, mahtavaa luontoa! Siella pitaisi kylla kaikkien saada kayda joskus. :)
